2011 Six Flags Caribbean Summer Concert Series | Beres Hammond, Ky-Mani Marley, Wayne Wonder & Anthony B

Just over a month after Julianspromos covered its first formal media event at Six Flags Great Adventure, the team returned to the park for another major Caribbean concert.

On August 13, 2011, the Six Flags Caribbean Summer Concert Series brought reggae to Jackson, New Jersey, with an official lineup headlined by Beres Hammond, Ky-Mani Marley, Wayne Wonder and Anthony B. Presented by TriniFly Promotions, the event combined a full day at the theme park with a major outdoor Caribbean concert.

Julianspromos was back on location documenting the event, with Sheniele “Vivaa” Dodson handling on-camera media coverage. Surviving videos from the day include Vivaa's event coverage along with performances by Beres Hammond and Devyn, preserving another early chapter in the growing Julianspromos media archive.

Back at Six Flags

The August reggae concert came only weeks after TEMPO Turns 6 at Six Flags Great Adventure on July 9, 2011, the first formal media event covered by Julianspromos.

Returning to the same park so quickly gave the young platform another opportunity to gain experience covering a large Caribbean event.

This time, the focus was reggae.

The official concert flyer placed Beres Hammond at the center of the bill alongside Ky-Mani Marley, Wayne Wonder and Anthony B, with the concert promoted as part of the Six Flags Caribbean Summer Concert Series.

Beres Hammond at Six Flags

Among the surviving Julianspromos footage is a performance from Beres Hammond, one of reggae's most recognizable voices.

His appearance gave the event significant weight, with the veteran Jamaican singer prominently featured on the official promotion for the August 13 concert.

The surviving performance video now provides a direct look back at Beres Hammond on the Six Flags stage during the 2011 Caribbean Summer Concert Series.

Devyn on the Six Flags Stage

The Julianspromos archive also preserves footage of Devyn performing live at Six Flags that day.

Although Devyn was not one of the four headliners featured prominently on the official concert flyer, her surviving performance adds another piece to the record of what happened on stage during the event.

Vivaa Continues the Early Julianspromos Media Story

The event also captures Sheniele “Vivaa” Dodson during the earliest period of her work with Julianspromos.

Vivaa was there as a Julianspromos media personality and host, not as a performer. Her surviving segment gives viewers a look at the concert atmosphere while showing how quickly the on-camera side of Julianspromos was developing during 2011.

Only weeks earlier, Julianspromos had taken its first major step into formal event coverage at TEMPO Turns 6. By August, the team was already back at Six Flags documenting another large Caribbean concert.

That quick progression makes the summer of 2011 especially important in the Julianspromos timeline.

Preserving the 2011 Six Flags Reggae Concert

More than fifteen years later, the surviving footage captures a strong moment in New York and New Jersey's Caribbean entertainment history.

The official billing brought together Beres Hammond, Ky-Mani Marley, Wayne Wonder and Anthony B, while the Julianspromos videos preserve additional moments from the stage and the atmosphere surrounding the concert.

For Julianspromos, the event also documents a platform that was still learning, experimenting and building its identity through repeated experience.

The August 13, 2011 Six Flags Caribbean Summer Concert Series became another early piece of an archive that would eventually extend far beyond New York and New Jersey.
