Julianspromos caught up with Machel Montano in Los Angeles during Hollywood Carnival weekend in June 2014 for an original one-on-one interview hosted by Sheniele “Vivaa” Dodson.
The conversation took place at the Epic After Party inside Xen Lounge in Studio City, California, following a weekend that brought Soca, mas and Caribbean Carnival culture into the heart of Hollywood.

Hollywood Carnival 2014 represented an important moment in the continued international expansion of Soca and Caribbean Carnival culture.
Machel Montano was closely involved with the development and promotion of the Carnival weekend, helping bring greater visibility to the celebration and supporting Epic Mas, which participated in the Hollywood Carnival experience.
The weekend brought Caribbean music and Carnival onto Hollywood Boulevard while connecting Soca artists, designers, entertainers and cultural figures with audiences on the U.S. West Coast.
The Epic After Party
Following the Carnival celebrations, the weekend continued at Xen Lounge in Studio City, where the Epic After Party brought together members of the Caribbean entertainment community and supporters of the Hollywood Carnival movement.
It was there that Sheniele “Vivaa” Dodson sat down with Machel Montano for Julianspromos, capturing another original interview during a period when the platform was expanding its artist coverage beyond New York and the Caribbean.
