One year after the release of the Folklore Riddim, Julianspromos and AdvoKit Productions reunited for their second collaborative Soca project, the Twin Flame Riddim, released in November 2018 for the 2019 Trinidad Carnival season.
Featuring Kes, Olatunji, Angelique Sabrina, Inzey, Marvay, Azaryah and Sekon Sta, Twin Flame expanded the creative partnership between Julian Hackett of Julianspromos and producer Kit Israel of AdvoKit Productions while introducing a larger and more internationally diverse group of artists.
Where Folklore explored Caribbean culture and tradition, Twin Flame centered its concept around love, connection, respect, desire and the idea of two souls finding their way back to each other, all over a warm cross Afro-Caribbean production.
The Story Behind Twin Flame
The concept of the Twin Flame Riddim was built around the idea that two deeply connected souls create an intense energy when they come together.
The original project described that connection as something deeper than traditional soulmates, with two people who are different but equal and whose bond exists beyond a single moment in time.
That idea became the foundation for a riddim designed to explore different forms of love and emotional connection.
Each artist was able to interpret the production differently, resulting in songs about romance, attraction, commitment, appreciation and family.
The result was a seven-song project that carried one central emotional theme while allowing each performer to tell a different story.
Kes – Love It
Kes returned for another Julianspromos and AdvoKit collaboration with “Love It.”
Written by KES The Band, Darryl Gervais and Kit Israel, the song placed Kees Dieffenthaller’s melodic vocals over the smooth Twin Flame production.
Additional background vocals were provided by Kees Dieffenthaller and Kit Israel.
After the success of Kes’ “Hello” on the previous year’s Folklore Riddim, “Love It” continued the relationship between Kes, AdvoKit Productions and Julianspromos into another Carnival season.
The song became one of the most recognizable recordings from the Twin Flame project and helped introduce the riddim to Julianspromos’ international Soca audience.
Olatunji – Thank Mama
Olatunji Yearwood took the concept of love in a different direction with “Thank Mama.”
Rather than centering the song around romantic love, Olatunji used the Twin Flame production to celebrate and appreciate his mother.
Written by Olatunji Yearwood, Bjorn Graham and Kit Israel, “Thank Mama” demonstrated how broadly the emotional theme of the riddim could be interpreted.
Additional background vocals were provided by Olatunji and Kit Israel.
The record added a personal and family-centered dimension to a project largely inspired by different expressions of connection and affection.
Sekon Sta – I Swear
Sekon Sta returned to the Julianspromos and AdvoKit partnership after appearing on the Folklore Riddim the previous year.
His Twin Flame contribution, “I Swear,” explored commitment and devotion.
Written by Nesta Boxill, with additional background vocals by Kit Israel, the song gave Sekon Sta another opportunity to approach the collaborative production from a different creative direction.
His return also created a direct musical connection between Folklore and Twin Flame, making him, along with Kes, part of both consecutive riddim projects.
Marvay – Hit De Boy
Barbadian Soca artist Marvay joined the project with “Hit De Boy.”
Written by Damian Marvay, Karyce Phillips and Kit Israel, the track added another island and another vocal style to the Twin Flame lineup.
Additional background vocals were provided by Marvay, Karyce Phillips and Kit Israel.
Marvay’s inclusion demonstrated the regional approach behind Twin Flame. Although the project was released for the Trinidad Carnival season, its artist roster reached beyond Trinidad and Tobago and brought together performers from across the Caribbean.
Angelique Sabrina – Rock With Me
Bahamian artist Angelique Sabrina contributed “Rock With Me.”
The song was written by Ashley Rose, Angelique Sabrina, Gregg White, Saeed K. Renaud and Julien Thompson, with additional background vocals from Ashley Rose, Rochelle Chedu and Kit Israel.
Angelique’s inclusion brought another Caribbean territory into the project and further expanded the sound of a riddim designed to cross both musical and geographical boundaries.
“Rock With Me” added another interpretation of attraction and connection to the wider Twin Flame concept.
Azaryah – Sugar
Azaryah joined the riddim with “Sugar.”
Written by Seumas Callender, who also provided additional background vocals, “Sugar” continued the melodic direction of the project while bringing another distinct voice into the seven-song collection.
The track fit naturally within Twin Flame’s exploration of attraction and desire while maintaining its own identity alongside the other recordings.
Inzey – Hold
Inzey completed another part of the Twin Flame story with “Hold.”
Written by Inzamam Gabriel, Karyce Phillips and Kit Israel, the song featured additional background vocals from Inzey and Kit Israel.
Like the other artists on the riddim, Inzey was given room to interpret the production through his own vocal and lyrical approach.
The result helped make Twin Flame feel less like seven versions of the same song and more like a collection connected by a shared musical foundation.

Together, the recordings explored different sides of love, connection, attraction, appreciation and commitment while sharing the same cross Afro-Caribbean musical foundation.
Production Behind Twin Flame
The Twin Flame Riddim was produced by AdvoKit Productions in collaboration with Julianspromos.
Kit Israel provided live guitar, while Gideon Bishop and Ira Storr performed live bass.
The project was mixed and mastered by AdvoKit Productions, with artwork created by Tippa Tone.
Special acknowledgements on the original release were also given to Kasey Phillips of Precision Productions, Gregg White and UberSoca Cruise.
The use of live guitar and bass helped give Twin Flame a warmer musical character and differentiated the production from many heavily electronic Soca riddims released during the same period.
The Second Julianspromos x AdvoKit Riddim
Twin Flame represented an important continuation of the production journey that had begun one year earlier.
In 2017, Julian Hackett worked with Kit Israel on the Folklore Riddim, marking Julian’s first riddim project and introducing a new creative side of Julianspromos.
Folklore produced songs including Kes’ “Hello,” Sekon Sta’s “Aye Yo,” Turner’s “Holding On” and Nadia Batson’s “Catching Feelings.”
After that collaboration, Julian and Kit returned in 2018 for Twin Flame.
The second project was larger, expanding from Folklore’s core artist lineup to seven featured performers and creating another full body of music for the following Trinidad Carnival season.
From Folklore to Twin Flame
The connection between the two projects can also be seen through Kes and Sekon Sta, who appeared on both riddims.
Kes moved from “Hello” on Folklore to “Love It” on Twin Flame.
Sekon Sta followed “Aye Yo” with “I Swear.”
Having returning artists helped connect the two projects while the addition of Olatunji, Marvay, Angelique Sabrina, Azaryah and Inzey allowed the second riddim to establish an identity of its own.
Together, Folklore and Twin Flame documented the development of a production partnership that was becoming an established part of Julianspromos’ work within Soca.
The Twin Flame Mix
Following the individual releases, JulianspromosTV also released a complete Twin Flame Riddim Mix by DeeJBlaze in December 2018.

The continuous mix brought all seven recordings together, giving DJs and listeners another way to experience the project as one complete body of work heading into Trinidad Carnival 2019.
For Julianspromos, this also connected the production side of the project with the platform’s longstanding role in Soca promotion and digital distribution.
A Partnership That Continued
Twin Flame was not the final collaboration between Julian Hackett and Kit Israel.
After Folklore and Twin Flame, the pair would return again for the Tender Touch Riddim, making it the third major riddim collaboration between Julianspromos and AdvoKit Productions.
Looking back, the three projects form a distinct chapter within Julianspromos history.
Folklore established the partnership.
Twin Flame expanded it.
Tender Touch continued it.
Together, they document Julianspromos moving beyond music promotion and media coverage into direct participation in Soca music creation and production.

Twin Flame Riddim (2019 Soca) – Julianspromos x AdvoKit Productions is preserved as part of the Julianspromos Archives, documenting another important period in the evolution of the company.
Originally released on November 8, 2018 for the upcoming 2019 Trinidad Carnival season, Twin Flame brought together Kes, Olatunji, Angelique Sabrina, Inzey, Marvay, Azaryah and Sekon Sta over production from AdvoKit Productions in collaboration with Julianspromos.
For Julian Hackett and Kit Israel, it represented the second chapter of a creative relationship that had begun with Folklore one year earlier and would continue into Tender Touch.
For Julianspromos, Twin Flame further established that the platform was no longer only documenting, distributing and promoting Soca.
It had become part of creating the music itself.
