Monday Madness Miami 2013: Machel Montano, Elephant Man & More
On Monday, October 14, 2013, Miami Carnival weekend continued in South Beach with Monday Madness, bringing together Machel Montano, Elephant Man, Patrice Roberts and Farmer Nappy for a major post-Carnival event.
Held at TRADE, 1439 Washington Avenue in Miami Beach, Monday Madness extended the Carnival celebration beyond Sunday’s road experience and into another night of Soca, Dancehall and Caribbean nightlife.

Monday Madness Takes Over South Beach
After Miami Carnival Sunday, the celebration was far from over.
Monday Madness brought Carnival visitors and Caribbean music fans into South Beach for another night of entertainment, with a lineup that crossed Soca and Dancehall.
The event was part of the wider Miami Carnival experience, when parties, concerts and fetes continued before and after the official Carnival road celebration.
Machel Montano, Patrice Roberts & Farmer Nappy
Machel Montano headlined a strong Soca lineup that also included Patrice Roberts and Farmer Nappy.
All three were major figures within the Trinidad and Tobago Soca scene during the period, making Monday Madness another opportunity for Miami Carnival audiences to experience artists whose music had already been powering fetes and the road throughout the weekend.
Their appearance helped give the event a strong Soca identity while extending the energy of Carnival Sunday into Monday night.
Elephant Man Brings Dancehall to the Lineup
Jamaican Dancehall artist Elephant Man added another dimension to Monday Madness.
His inclusion brought Dancehall into a lineup otherwise heavily rooted in Soca and reflected the broader Caribbean music mix found throughout Miami Carnival nightlife.
With artists from Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica sharing the event, Monday Madness captured the crossover between Soca and Dancehall audiences that has long been part of the Miami Carnival experience.
Vivaa Covers Monday Madness Miami
Sheniele “Vivaa” Dodson hosted the Julianspromos coverage from inside Monday Madness.
The footage was shot and edited by Julian C. Hackett, continuing Julianspromos’ documentation of Miami Carnival weekend beyond the official parade and J’Ouvert.
The surviving video preserves another side of the weekend: the post-Carnival nightlife that kept the celebration going after the costumes and road experience were finished.
The footage was later reuploaded to YouTube on September 12, 2026 as part of the rebuilt Julianspromos archive.

Monday Madness Miami 2013 completes an especially important stretch of Julianspromos coverage from Miami Carnival weekend.
Julianspromos had already documented Rise Miami Meets Shine New York on Friday, Canboulay’s Savages of Dawn at Miami Carnival J’Ouvert on Saturday and Freaks Mas on the Miami Carnival road on Sunday.
By Monday, the cameras were still rolling as the celebration shifted from the official Carnival events into South Beach nightlife.
Taken together, that surviving coverage preserves several different parts of the same Carnival weekend: the fete, J’Ouvert, the Carnival road and the post-Carnival party scene.
With Vivaa hosting and Julian C. Hackett shooting and editing the coverage, Monday Madness became the closing chapter of Julianspromos’ expanded 2013 Miami Carnival documentation.
The surviving video and photo gallery now provide another look back at a night featuring Machel Montano, Elephant Man, Patrice Roberts and Farmer Nappy during Miami Carnival 2013.
